Catch of the Day | Hamnøy, Lofoten, Norway by v on life This was the village we called home for the majority of our stay in Lofoten. We woke up to find a thin layer of snow had covered the ground and roofs of the rorbuers (fishermen’s cabins) overnight.

Later that day, we stopped by the pier where fishing boats were bringing in their catch and picked up some fresh arctic cod. Let’s just say that the YouTube video on how to fillet cod made it look much easier than it actually is.

Although our fillet was not pretty, it was still by far the most delicious cod I’ve ever had. http://flic.kr/p/qRy5hk
