Bakkejord – Arctic Norway by simonjhillier Just back from a five day trip with Antony Spencer to the north of Norway on an Aurora hunt. Sadly the green lights did not show for us as promised, although we did have a small show when the clouds broke sporadically on the last night. Let it not be said that Captain Aurora did his best for the group trying to ensure we were best placed, unfortunately Mother Nature did not play ball.
This shot was taken on the penultimate afternoon after a cracking drive around the island near to Sommarøy. A stunning piece of coastline, wind blasted by a good 25mph wind making it feel very cold, the ice on the jetty piles somewhat gives the game away.
